Bryce Wolkowitz and Howard Greenberg Gallery are simultaneously exhibiting the photographs of the legendary Bruce Davidson, entitled Five Decades and East 100th Street, The MoMA Show as Curated by John Szarkowski in 1970.
The exhibition coincides with the launch of three-volume retrospective of Mr. Davidson's work, by the German art-book publisher Steidl.
Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery has decided to blow up a number of Mr. Davidson's photographs to big 30-by-40-inch prints, while Howard Greensberg Gallery recreates a sequence of pictures chosen by the curator John Szarkowski for the Museum of Modern Art exhibition of Mr. Davidson's "East 100th Street", an examination of urban poverty and perseverance in the late 60's.
Certainly two exhibitions not to be missed! ongoing until December 19, 2009.
Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery is at: 505 W. 24th Street
Howard Greenberg Gallery is at: 47 E. 57th Street
Cheers, Ferdy
